Frequently Asked Questions
Are my documents stored on your servers?
No. We never store your document images on our servers. When you scan a document, the image is uploaded directly to the hidden appDataFolder inside your personal Google Drive. This ensures maximum privacy and security.
How does the AI extraction work?
We use Google ML Kit to perform on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition). This means the text is read locally on your phone. We then use advanced AI models (like Gemini) to structure that raw text into copyable fields like names and ID numbers.
How do I copy a number from a document?
Just tap the field! The core philosophy of DocHouse is "The number you need is one tap away." Tapping any field will instantly copy it to your clipboard.
Why do you need Google Drive access?
DocHouse requests the drive.appdata scope so it can securely backup your document images. This folder is invisible to you in the standard Google Drive app, ensuring that only DocHouse can access the files, and preventing accidental deletion while keeping your vault synced across your devices.
